A Winter Wedding in Virginia. Tracy & Ed.

This was an incredibly emotional day for these two.  They have been courting for quite a while and when Ed kissed Tracy at the end of the ceremony it was literally the first time they had ever kissed.  Isn't that amazing?  So, throughout the day you kept hearing them say "wow, this is so weird" followed by lots of smootches.  Very sweet.

Tracy has a smile that stretches for miles.  She lights up a room and Ed, well, he is very handsome.  And the two of them together is something wonderful to witness.

Congratulations Tracy & Ed!

And a special thank you to Bill Gray, my second set of eyes for the day.

The realization that it's all really happening.

Well, I guess he's happy.

This was the sweetest "reveal" I've ever witnessed.  Just look at those faces!

Tracy is the only bride I know that had time to take her shoes off and really relax before the ceremony.

A prayer before the ceremomy.

Last minute items to gather.

Seeing Ed at the end of the aisle.

The minister asked the audience if anyone didn't think these two should be married and then blurted "if so, then it's too late....."  LOL.

Looks like love to me.

Love this image by Bill Gray!

The final blessing.  Just before this the couples asked if anyone in audiance wanted to renew their vows and two couples came up to the alter.  It was so great!

A very excited couple.

The official signing of the certificate.

Getting announced to a room full of happy people.

We spent time following the reception to photograph the two of them.  It was a gorgeous day and we had a blast.

Yay!

Joy & Mark. A Holiday Season Wedding in Baltimore.

It's not very often you meet people from large families.  The way I met this couple was through a fantastic make-up artist, Amie Decker, that I work with often.  Her husband is one of eight kids whose sister, Joy, was getting married. Have I confused you, yet?  Mark, the groom, has a large family as well. So, this was truly a family affair.

I was so thrilled to have been asked to document this wedding.  When you see all of the siblings in a room together, you can feel the energy of closeness.  It's so wonderful.  Not to mention how much in love Joy & Mark are.  I mean gaga love.  And they are both so beautiful inside and out.

The theme of the wedding was feathers, gloves, and a bit of a vintage feel.  The Belvedere in Baltimore was the perfect backdrop for their event.

Many congratulations to this amazing couple and their lovely, big families.

A special thank you to Elisha, who helped create beautiful images of their day.

Dana & David. A Celebration in Pasadena, MD.

We all crossed our fingers about keeping the rain from falling.  The clouds were lingering across the sky.  But, crossing fingers didn't work.  The rain came, we had a few sad faces, but it did not stop anyone from having a beautiful celebration.  And this is what Dana & David wanted for everyone, to have a beautiful celebration.  And they did. And Celebrations on the Bay did an wonderful job to make it so.

Dana & David, thank you so much for your trust in me to document this very special love.

A special thank you to Stephen Bobb, the extra set of eyes and amazing Associate Photographer, that helped create many beautiful images.

Sarah & Keith. A Beautiful Wedding at Strong Mansion.

I met Sarah & Keith at the wedding of Lisa & Jeremy in June of last year.  I was so tickled when they came to me to document their wedding.  They are such a warm & caring couple. And they have the most fabulous outlook on love & happiness. Everything at the wedding had a very personal, special touch to it and they are surrounded by strong, caring people who are so happy to see them together.  The setting at Strong Mansion couldn't have been more fitting or beautiful. All these ingredients combined created one very special celebration.

Thank you Sarah & Keith for your trust in me to document such a sacred time in your journey together.  I wish you oodles of happiness.

A special thank you to Elisha Tablada, my second set of eyes for the day, who helped create many beutiful memories for Sarah & Keith.  She's also our in-house album designer who does amazing work for our clients.

Renee & Young. A Beautiful Wedding on a Wet & Rainy Day.

Renee & Young met at work and were smitten with each other quite immediately, although I think neither admitted to each other.  But, everyone else knew.  And so, here we are, the couple that likes to keep it simple (as they so beautifully put it during our engagement session) managed to create a simply beatiful day for both themselves and all their loved ones around them.  Rain was no issue at all.  Let me tell you, it poured.  So everyone stayed inside Gramercy Mansion all warm, cozy, and a little crazy at times having a fabulous time.  For me, it was like a little mini reunion because so many of the guests have been clients of mine over the past few years.

Thank you Renee & Young for your trust in me to document something so wonderful!  I wish you many years of happiness.

A special thank you to Wendy Hickok for all of her hard work to help create memorable images of their day.

Arrin & Paul. A Virginia Wedding. Update! Please Read.

Arrin & Paul's story.

What I didn't mention below was the amazing strength these two families have after enduring the death of Arrin's father, Bruce, three months before the wedding.  His goal, after being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, was to make it to Arrin's wedding and have that very special dance with her.  Unfortunately, the cancer took it's toll on his body.

I had known all this going into the wedding and I wanted so much to make sure I was capturing the spirit of this wedding.  Arrin and Paul wanted so much to have a celebration of love and life and they made it happen, despite this tragedy in their family.  I'm so gratelfull for their trust in me and honored to have been chosen to capture these moments.  It just makes you realize the importance of our ever-fleeting, continually evolving life.  The clock never stops.  The moments happen and then they are gone. What is left is your memory and, hopefully, a photograph to ignite the memory and relive it a little.  While I never got to meet Bruce, I know that he was a good and honorable person. You can just tell because his family is so wonderul and special.

Arrin's family has since gotten involved with PanCan (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network) and donations have been made in Bruce's  memory to that group.  They are also doing the PanCan PurpleStride walk/run on October 11, 2009 in Maryland. If you'd like to make a donation it would be greatly appreciated. Their goal is to raise $1000.

We had an engagement session earlier in the year that was so much fun and I really got a chance to get to know them much better. We were old pals by the time the wedding came around.  Arrin & Paul had a beautiful Virginia wedding with a reception at Fort Belvoir.  I know this love will last for a looooonnnnng time. I'm so, so lucky to have had this special opportunity to document such a special day for the two of them.

Thank you, Wendy Hickok, for your second set of eyes, your creativity and fun energy!

Margaret & Warren. A Wedding at The Washington Club, DC

Margaret & Warren are so right for one another.  They're young, passionate, fun, smart, sweet and totally have thier heads together. I first met them face-to-face at our Love Session and I could tell immediately that the two of them together would create an incredibly strong marriage.  It was, and is, a great fit.  Two weekends ago I documented their Wedding in DC and it was a picture perfect day in every way.  With Sara Bauleke, of Bella Notte,  at the helm keeping everything seemless, the day flowed as easily as their relationship. The florals by Petal's Edge were simply elegant. Here's a few of my favorite images from the day.

Thank you so much Margaret & Warren for your trust to document something so sacred and wonderful.
