A Family Portrait Session with Ethan & Luke.

Have I ever told you that I love, love, love, love documenting the Life Stages Sessions we offer.  I can't tell you enough how amazing it is to see these precious little people (that's what I like to call them) grow before my eyes.

I've been documenting Ethan since he was in his mom's belly.  See the first sessions here and here.  He's about five monthes old now and just last week I did the final session.  I was blown away at how big Ethan grew.  He's got so much personality.  He loves to smile and eat his toes. He's mad for his older brother, Luke, too.

Let's meet everyone, again.

Here's Ethan.

This is Luke with his dad.

Luke in his favorite frog boots.

Linda lovin' on Ethan.

An amazing smile.

Must eat him up now.

A little story time for Ethan.

Reaching the breaking point.

Even the dog loves Ethan.

And vise versa.

A nice family portrait.

Jack and His Family. Life Stages Portrait Session.

I have a big history with this family.  First it was Charlie and now Jack, and most importantly, Stella (their human dog).  I'm not kidding.  She might as well be human.  She has all the mama instincts with incredible patience to boot!

This was Jack as a newborn and this is him now.

See what I mean?  Life flies right on by and before we know it we're paying for college. I'm so glad I can document such important stages in a baby's growth.  It's so incredible and lovely.

Charlie towers over Jack.

This is what I mean about Stella.  Eternal patience.

Weeeee!

Mom & dad with the little guy.

Love the details of little people.

Such personality!

The whole family.

I love this time of year!  There is definitely that feeling of growth and rebirth! It's a time to celebrate the ones we love, especially with Mother's Day around the corner.  We offered a mini-session special at our Savage Mill Studio location for a portrait palooza.

Here's to you, Moms, for all your hard work and eternal love.

More sessions and images to come soon!

Okay, I had to sneak this one in!

Spring Family Portrait Session in Baltimore.

Meet Finn, Mia and their parents.  I went for a visit to their Federal Hill home on stunning day last week.  We spent a little time inside exploring their home, because I love to incorporate a family's home and world into the images.  We also ventured to Federal Hill Park , a favorite park setting up the street from their home, with baseball bats and tonka trucks in tow.

Lets meet the family!

This is Finn.  Amazing blue eyes and a ton of energy!

This is Mia.  She is very aware of her world.

I love gummy smiles!

It's fun being a big brother...for a minute or so.

Well, of course we had to break out the tutu.

Here's mom and dad.  Doing what they do best.

Being a kid rocks.

The whole family.

I cannot wait to help design their walls with these images.  They will look terrific in their very hip rowhome.

Photojournalism + Family Life = Art.

I'm so in love with Tiffany & Brad Sanders.  Why?  Because they are magnificant parents who love family just as it is in all it's raw realness.  And that is exactly how they want their family documented, too.  They don't "prepare" for me, they just go on with their life when I show up.  Of course, I interupt it a bit by my very presence.  But, that is par for the course.

They recently moved back into their home with three kids now (I've been documenting them since their oldest, Elizabeth, was a baby) and I'll be documenting their life throughout the year as their youngest, Autumn, grows and discovers.  This was the first of six "Life Stages" sessions.

I'm obsessed with feet.

Elizabeth plays "mommy" and absolutely loves Autumn.

Happy baby.

Daily, beautiful chaos.

Bradley has the best smile.

Autumn loves having her picture taken. She is so aware!

Elizabeth playing pirate with the camera.

Yummy fingers.

Sweet caress.

The family!

willj - Mary, these are great -- such unique perspectives -- I love how you've pushed not only to document, but to interpret -- I've really enjoyed getting exploring your work the last couple of months -- wonderful, just wonderful (2010-02-26 22:23:15)

Life on Your Walls

Your Life Makes Beautiful Artwork

I had an amazing photo shoot with the Vannoy family recently and the ordering session went just as well.  Today we received the finished product.  Before I put everything in the box for shipment I wanted to take a picture of how it will look on their walls.  What an amazing design element to brighten up any room.

I'm so excited for them!  It will look fab-u-lous!

your life is art.

Four Little Munchkins and One Calm Mom.

Angela was the winner of a drawing at Greenberries (a fabulous children's consignment store in Columbia, MD) during the grand-opening festivities held this summer. She has four beautiful children of various ages & sizes.  All of them are absolutely adorable and so sweet.  I was floored by their demeanor, charm and personalities.  Let me introduce them to you.

This is Calvin.  He's the oldest and the protector.

This is Christina.  She is 7 years old, with a quiet demeanor and loves her older brother.

This is Tyler.  He is 4 years old and the class clown.  Loves to stick out his tongue...alot.

This is Clara. Just under 5 months, cute as a button.  Loves to smile and be doted upon by other siblings.

Here's a few more from the session.

your life is art.

Your memories are what fuels your emotions. Why not display them in your space as part of your life?

Do you have a wall in your home that you can't figure out how to fill?  This is what I envioned as a wall display after working on these sweet little munchkins.  So many options!
